You can also shoot amazing photographs like some of the best photographers of India using few techniques, tips and tricks because now no amount of darkness can stop you to bring out the beauty of your photography. Here are some tips and tricks that would help you to shoot some amazing pictures in low light.
1.Shutter speed should be slow
This is the best tip for beginners recommended by some of the best photographers of India to shoot the stunning pictures in low lights. The shutter speed should be slow because slower shutter speed allows the longer exposure time that means it would allow more light to enter. This helps in capturing the best low light pictures effortlessly. However slower shutter speeds can also cause the motion blur. You should always use a tripod for shutter speed lower than 1/60 because it doesn’t leave any chances for the motion blur to occur. Also using a wider aperture gives better results in low light situations.
2.Prevent the camera shake as much as possible
It is a good idea to use your tripod for reducing the camera shake but perfect moments don’t wait for perfect lighting or the right low light equipment like tripods. Some of Perfect photography moments can be momentary or instantaneous, you might not get a time to bring your tripod and set it. Also It is not possible to carry your tripod everywhere so here’s one trick that can help you to reduce the camera shake without using a tripod. Hold the camera in your right hand and and put the other hand on your shoulder. Put your elbow up and then place the camera on your elbow. Using your elbow/hands as a resting surface will drastically reduce the camera shake.
You can also let the camera strap stay around your neck while shooting to stabilize the camera and take support from a wall or anything behind you to make your camera more stable.
3.B&W helps a lot
Suppose you messed up a bunch of pictures while shooting in low light. Don’t worry there’s still a hope .Try B&W. Believe me B&W removes poor color and image noise issues instantly. You can also directly shoot in B&W mode if you want to avoid the mess and to stay on the safer side. This trick is used by a lot of best photographers to create a unique and stunning low light picture.
4.Increse the ISO settings
ISO settings determine the sensitivity of the camera sensor to the light. Higher the ISO, clearer will be the object in low light. However this may also result in noisy pictures but guess what? Noisy pictures are much better than blurred images because the noise can be easily removed by some post processings while blurred pictures cannot be fixed. Converting a noisy picture into B&W can be a great idea used by many best photographers to create a stunning photography art piece. It might not totally remove the noise from the image but would reduce it to some extent and also give it a unique look. You can also shoot in RAW (if available)
5.Invest on faster lenses
Faster lenses are like a boon for a great and hustle- free low light photography. Now what are the fast lenses? Well fast lenses are the lenses with maximum aperture. Wider aperture enables more light to reach the camera sensor which is much required in low light photography. It means you can use the faster shutter speeds even in the low lights. With faster lenses, motion blur can never be a problem. You can even shoot without a tripod in low lights. These faster lenses are usually used by the best photographers of India to capture sharp images of the movements of dancers and sportsmen without a motion blur. These are used for photography in very low light situations like a concert or an indoor area. The only cons of faster lenses is that they can be a bit pricey for many people.
