I have been missing from this space for so long, blame it on my Gall Bladder. Now I am slowly getting back to work, but still recovering physically and mentally. Although gallbladder treatment is supposed to be one of the minor surgeries for most of the people, in my case things went wrong till an extent. I get goosebumps when I think about it and retrospect why I landed up in a situation which could be easily avoided(as many of the people have did), why this small thing became so humongous for me…
Actually there are two ways I knew for gallbladder stone treatment: a) Surgery b) Natural Remedy or Homeopathy. Surgery is a direct and most reliable method to get it cured. Its small invasive Laparoscopic surgery to remove the gallbladder with stones.
Natural remedies are not suppose to have any side effects but at the same time I don’t know anybody personally who used them to cure gallbladder symptoms. There are people on internet, claiming that they got treated with this, and I did not find any harm with it as this was done using natural things. I know people who got cured from kidney stones using natural treatment. I took my chances here as I had enough luxury to use it, but here are my three mistakes which I should have avoided .
1) Not Treating it till the end…
I found that gallbladder flush was a very effective remedy to cure symptoms of gall stones and I started it. On internet there are many people who claim that its very effective. This Gallbladder Flush uses Apple juice, Olive oil and lemon juice. The mixture is supposed to break down gallstones and flush them out through stools. I did this flush and got the results as suggested but left it there without tracing it again.
I got expected results and my problem did not repeat for two years. But I did not know what was the state of my gallstones. I even don’t know how effective this remedy was, did I actually pass out any gallstones at that time?? What I could have done better was to get an Ultrasound done to check the condition of gallstone, whether they were still there or they got reduced etc.. If they were still there then I could have tried the Gallstone Flush couple of more times until any improvement. And if no improvement was there then could have gone for surgery immediately instead of waiting so long until my second Gallstone attack, which occurred 2 years later with greater intensity.
2) Starting something new unplanned and Ignorance of symptoms…
Another big mistake, well I am really not sure if this could be the cause, was to start off with an online weight shred routine without assessing my health or consulting a physician. I seemed fit as I was taking my usual diet, doing walking and yoga, with my regular eating, drinking and lifestyle. But within 2 weeks of starting my new exercise routine(which was rigorous and involved lots of jumping and movement) my symptoms of gallbladder problems started showing up slowly.
I kind of did a blind eye towards the symptoms for a few days thinking them to be normal exercise related body issues until they became severe. Actually Gallstones symptoms are similar to gastric or indigestion like uneasiness after eating food(especially at night), bloated feeling, vomiting, chest pain etc.
3) Not meeting specialist and diagnostics…
As I was not getting a significant improvement meeting a general physician, I should have met a Gastroenterologist immediately as I suspected it to be another Gallstone attack. I took sometime meeting couple of doctors and taking opinions until finally it was diagnosed by MRI scan that a stone was stuck in bile duct, and then there was no other solution other than the ERCP to remove that stone. This had to be followed by gallbladder removal by laparoscopy to avoid further such issues.
Finally it all ended fine so no regrets…just in retrospect, I think how I could have saved my prolonged sufferings…
