Diwali’s over and now everything around seems somewhat quite. I think it usually happens for a while after the festivities are over 🙂
This Diwali due to a busy schedule I did not have much time to visit parlor to pamper my dry, wanting care skin. So as “Necessity is the mother of Invention” (well well I did not invent anything here :)) I made a customized homemade face pack and scrub which would scrub, nourish and also give me a glowing skin. As I believe in keeping it simple and basic so this time also I used all the homemade stuff available in kitchen counter.

To make this mask you would need 10-15 almond, 10 walnut, 2-3 strands of saffron, some milk. I added almond because it is rich in vitamin E and it nourishes skin and adds natural glow.Almonds also prevents wrinkles by moisturizing the skin. Walnuts was added because it is one of best natural scrubbers. It is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acid which prevents wrinkles, dry, flaky skin, protects against sun damage and help repair it. Saffron because it is an excellent skin lightening agent that helps to lighten skin tone dramatically. Since saffron is teeming with anti-bacterial qualities it is ideal for curing acne also. Saffron’s exfoliating qualities make it a wonderful aid in clearing and brightening up the complexion.
To prepare this mask, soak almond and walnut in little water and leave it overnight. Soak saffron in little milk and put it in fridge(refrigerate to avoid milk turning bad). Next day discard the water of soaked almonds and walnuts and grind them in a mixer along with the saffron and milk which we had refrigerated, add little more milk if needed. The consistency should be thick somewhat similar to the scrub we get in market.
Now apply it on your face, neck, hands as you wish and leave it for 10-15 minutes until it dries off. After the pack has dried, wet your palms with some water and start rubbing lightly to scrub the skin and then after 3-4 minutes wash off with water. You will see your skin glowing and feeling super soft.
