Much inspired by Big and Broad eyeglasses sported by Deepika Padukone for Vogue and Chitrangada Singh for Titan Eye+ Enigma, I also decided to ditch the rimless glasses this time.
My eyewear search started with just a faint picture of what kind I wanted, but was not sure which brands or shops I would get them. I started with Titan Eye+, HSR layout and must say they have a pretty vast collection of frames. Their new Enigma collection has nice designs and colors to chose from. I was able to shortlist couple of frames but then decided to check some more shops too before I finalize on one.
Second shop I went was Millennium Opticals in HSR layout , where I checked some of there in-house spectacle frames and also Tommy, Rayban and more brands. I liked couple of frames here also but didn’t get the ONE I was looking for, so decided to check more…
The third shop I went was Lawrence and Mayo in Koramangala and after trying out lots of frame I decided to finalize one Hugo Boss frame. It was so comfortable that it didn’t feel I was wearing any. But the issue was it was only in Black color ( I will tell you why No BLACK), so I cancelled this frame too. Luckily while leaving the shop I spotted a Vogue frame, it had a very nice color and print which took away my heart in one go but the shop did not have my size available in that model 🙁 O god was I asking too much for a frame or it is just the Time!!!!
By now my search had changed all directions. Now I only wanted The Vogue frame in the same print I spotted at Lawrence and Mayo. But the next question was where??? We checked couple of more shops but no use. Finally Abhishek decided to take little Google help to find which all shops have good collection of Vogue Eyewear. GKB opticals, Koramangala was one name that came up and it was our next destination.
And what do I see after reaching GKB opticals, they had 4-5 styles in the same Havana print I was looking for. It took me just 5 minutes to decide the final one and place the order. Model Number: Vogue VO 2864 W656, Price: Rs 5000. After all the roaming about I felt “All that ends well is Well” isn’t it 🙂
Coming back to why I said No to Black color frame. After checking about 100+ glasses, I got a brief idea on what to look for in a frame.
1. Shape – Most important part of the frame. It does not matter how pretty the frame is, it should look good on your face type.
2. Size – Big frames are in vogue these days. But way too big frames for your face will not look good on a day to day basis, you can definitely keep one for special occasions. Same applies to the frames which are small in size too.
3. Color – I feel colored frames add more charm to the face unlike the black one. But this depends on personal choice too, because some may like Black as it is very classy. Also choice of the color depends on whether we want a versatile frame which goes with most of the dresses or an occasional one.
Keep watching to check out how I look in my new Vogue…
