Hello people,
How’s the week coming around for you, mine is a bit busy as some of my fussy relatives are planning to visit my home next weekend. So this weeks job is to clean up the house and to buy some new fancy stuff for the house. Little bit of showoff is good you see 🙂
But before I buy new stuff my issue is to create some space in the house for it. Thankfully it is not much of a task since I can now buy and sell online in OLX. Otherwise also it is always a good idea to get rid of the stuff which we are not using, it helps to declutter our house and in turn our minds too.
Here are some of the things I keep in mind while de-cluttering my house from time to time:
1- First of all remove the items in your house which are under category “I will use them someday” and have not been used for a year atleast. For example, your old clothes which are in perfectly good condition but they do not fit you or they are out of fashion now, it’s time you do away with them.
2- Then you need to get rid of things which do not fulfill your present requirement. For example, if your old refrigerator falls short for your big family now, you should get away with it and buy a bigger size.
3- Buy some good organizers as per your need which would help to arrange your shoes, kitchen shelf items, cosmetics. Papers and books need most attention as they are often found wandering here and there in the house.
4- Store items as per your need and requirement. I mean things which are seldom used should be stacked in boxes and kept in far off places like overhead cabinets. While items of frequent use, should be made easily accessible so that they involve minimum effort and time.
5- Allocate a fixed place or dumping location of things which are used and misused on a daily basis. For example dirty clothes, if not stacked properly would be seen roaming in the whole house :). Same applies for school/office bags, car keys and many more.
