Rajasthan is one place which depicts the fusion of ancient and modern India very correctly. We can find lots of palaces, forts and traditional havelis in Rajasthan and also we can find big malls and modern constructions in the state. In the purview of development, the state has not lost its exotic feel. The place has one of the largest deserts of the country and ethnic city dwelling within that desert. The culture, the food, the dressing style of people, the language and the environment of the state gives a feel of typical Rajasthani culture of India. My list of must visit places in Rajasthan is as follows:
1. JAIPUR
Jaipur, the capital of the state is also known as pink city because of the usage of pink stones in construction of majority of homes of the city. This place is an amalgamation of ancient architecture and modern construction. The city has a few famous palaces like Amber fort and palace, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace and many more beautiful, ancient and magnanimous forts. There is a place called Chowkidhani that shows the miniature form of Rajasthan, beautifully. The local market of the place sells goods that are typically hand made by the localities of the city and proves as a good purchase.
2. JAISALMER
An explorer or a dessert lover or even an enthusiast will love to take a camel ride on the sands of Jaisalmer. This place promises the best camel safari in India wherein a typical itinerary includes a one day trip of the desert. There are other adventurous people who also book a 30 days trip of the desert. There are many good options of staying at the place and totally worth the money spent.
3. UDAIPUR
Udaipur is known for its lake and the palaces constructed on this land and because of presence of innumerable lakes the city is also known with the name, “City of Lakes”. One of the most attractive spots to see in Udaipur is the lake palace, which is constructed in a whole island of Pichola Lake. The chilling atmosphere of the place, covered in the greenery, makes it one of the most popular hill stations of India. This hill station gives a different view to otherwise a sandy state.
5. AJMER
Ajmer is one of the popular pilgrimage places of Muslims, because of presence of India’s one of the largest mosque. It is visited, though not only by Muslims but also Hindus. e a knot on the walls on the mosque for fulfillment of a wish. Here it is a custom to tie a not on the walls of the mosque. When the wish is fulfilled then they are suppose to pay a second visit and untie the knot. This place is a perfect example of unity in diversity, present in the roots of India.
